A movement score sent by mail
In the performance ›Landing / Landing in Roots / Landing in Shifting Sands‹, the audience becomes choreographer Zwoisy-Mears Clarke‘s collaborators. With the help of instructions sent per post, the participants bring the piece to life through their own movements, creativity, and feelings. Through this process, they become both performer and audience members, as each brings the performance to life in their own home or a self-chosen location. As collaborators, the audience fills the piece with their personal wishes too, a collaborative shift of orientation and opening of hearts.
Zwoisy Mears-Clarke is a choreographer of the encounter. They use the potential of dance to confront forms of oppression such as racism, sexism, neocolonialism, and ableism. Through choreography, Zwoisy seeks to facilitate encounters that might otherwise seem unreachable. Zwoisy Mears-Clarke developed ›Landing (…)‹ out of the wish that the inhabitants of Germany, the Ovaherero, and the Nama finally sense their interconnectedness.
