Accessibility

We are committed to continuously improve accessibility at our events and to make existing barriers transparent. Spaces

The Schwankhalle is »accessible« (pursuant to DIN 18040-01). This applies to the entrances to the foyer, the Alte and Neue Saal and the sanitary facilities.

All event spaces of the Schwankhalle are at ground level and accessible without steps. The front entrance door to the foyer opens automatically after being briefly pulled (front door width: 96 cm). Unfortunately, the back entrance door from Peter Zadek Platz to the foyer does not open automatically (back door width: 100cm).

Tickets & Seat Reservations

Please preferably use our Online Ticket Sale. Remaining tickets (if available) can be purchased at the box office starting one hour before the event begins. If you don’t have the possibility of using our advance sale, please call or email us to reserve a ticket.

In the Schwankhalle, there is always free seating. If you require specific seats, please indicate your individual requirements when booking your ticket.

Wheelchair places

In the case of regular seating, we usually provide two wheelchair places. Depending on their availability, they can be reserved in advance.

Entry

We kindly ask that you arrive at least 30 minutes before the event begins to ensure a smooth entry process. Late entry after the show has started is not permitted.

Early Boarding

For some events, we offer »Early Boarding«—that is, individual early admission—upon request. This option is intended for guests who would like to find their seats at their own pace and get accustomed to the venue. Early admission typically begins about 10 minutes before the performance starts. Our evening staff will escort you to your seat if needed. You can sign up for early admission in advance when purchasing your ticket or making a reservation, or on the evening of the event itself. Please feel free to talk to our evening staff if you’d like to take advantage of this offer.

Accompanying persons

If you require an accompanying person for your visit, please indicate this when booking your ticket so we can reserve a free ticket for them.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome in the Schwankhalle! To ensure a relaxed stay for dog, dog owner and audience, we kindly ask you to contact us by phone or email before your visit.

Access Table

At many events, there is an »Access Table« next to our beverage counter. Here you’ll find all the important information about the performance, as well as details on sensory stimuli and sensitive content. We also provide small toys to help with nervousness (so-called anti-stress toys or fidget toys), earplugs, FFP2 masks, and tinted sunglasses. You are warmly invited to help yourself to these items (on loan). If you have any questions about the performance or accessibility, please feel free to speak with our evening staff. We also welcome feedback on your visit, which you are welcome to share with us in person or in writing.

Event Accessibility

We aim to provide specific accessibility information for each event—you can find this on the respective event pages. The information includes details on the event’s duration and language, seating arrangements in the halls, sensory stimuli (such as lighting and sound effects, fog), and sensitive content.
