This year’s exchange and networking format “Open Schwankhalle” is again about cultural workers and representatives of civil society finding common strategies for standing up against the rising political right.

Under the motto “Deradicalizing Social Media,” we deal with our reality’s largest theater—the social media platforms. Why are the most influential players on these platforms right-wing extremists, anti-feminists and masculinists? And above all: What can we do about this? In a workshop with Luzia Oppermann ↗ and onlinetheater.live ↗ from onlinetheater.live ↗, we take a look at how radicalization processes work and how we can not only build up resilience against them but also offer resistance.

After the workshop, teams of two of the project “4 Stunden 4 Minuten” (4 Hours 4 Minutes) give an account of their exchange on the railroad line between Leipzig and Bremen. This project was initiated during the last edition, “Open Schwankhalle – Accomplices against Right.”
