Atoms, electrons or the DNA double helix models from the natural sciences have a crucial impact on the way we perceive the world. We are often not even aware of this, that‘s how strongly we have internalized them. But models do not simply describe reality, they engender a reality of their own: They fulfill their alleged purpose of explaining reality by creating fictions meant to help us cope with our limited cognitive potentials in an overly complex world.

Eva Meyer-Keller, who has repeatedly been a guest of the Schwankhalle in the past, turns the stage into a bustling model-making studio. Objects of everyday use such as percussion drills, fabric softener bottles, and fitted sheets become accomplices in a choreographed play. The aim is not to create ‚correct‘ replicas but to present appreciatively arrogate and non-accidental, banal transgressions and instances of overwriting. ›Some Significance‹ experiments with the possibility of a re- and disordering of what we (believe to) know.
