Peter-Zadek-Platz and the foyer of the Schwankhalle are accessible at ground level and without steps.

There are three different toilets: an accessible toilet that is also suitable for wheelchair users, a toilet with three toilet cubicles, and a toilet with urinals and one toilet cubicle.

It’s supper time! And not just anywhere, but at Peter-­Zadek-­Platz. This small but charming square is located between the Schwankhalle and the Städtische Galerie, between Buntentor and Werdersee, between cultural and residential space. Since the summer of 2025, we have been working together with other users of this place to shape its future. We ask: Can this square become more than just a permanent place of passage? And what does it take to make the change happen?

After many field trips, observations, and analyses, we’re now taking a different approach: We’re taking the space! We are blocking through traffic, setting up tables, and heating up the oven. With freshly baked bread, we are ending the day together and taking in the atmosphere of the place. Isn’t it lovely to sit here together? Come join us, help yourselves to bread and pickles. Everything is vegan and delicious, and donations are welcome!
