In 1948, George Orwell wrote his dystopia, dating it 36 years later to the year 1984. Another 36 years on, the Theaterwerkstatt der Hochschule Bremen presents its version and again shifts the content 36 years into the future. 2056: the age of digital totalitarianism 2.0. Where everything is public, privacy is deemed suspicious.
The motto is: ›Show yourself, be open, be addressable, use your potentials, participate, engage with what is new, and finally stop writing in you fucking diary‹. Winston Smith doesn’t want to surrender to this system, he seeks like-minded people, and in the end he loses... himself.
