For years, the Syndikat Gefährliche Liebschaften has been commuting to Quakenbrück, a small town in the meat belt of Lower Saxony. Butchers from Eastern Europe live here, who cut up pigs to be exported to China. And researchers developing paths for the future of meat. For ›Grilling Me Softly,‹ Syndikat Gefährliche Liebschaften met experts at the grill, the conveyor belt, the barn, the high seat, the lab, and the sausage kitchen. Their perspectives and secret recipes are brought together in this variety show between theater, pork feast, audio play, and grill party. At the fire pit or in the party tent, everything revolves around what tastes good—but the evening is also about meat cycles in which we are all involved. Meat is muscular mass, pork bouillon and identity. Meat is an invitation to take a stand. High time to place the topic on the grill!

During the performance, you will come in contact exclusively with meatless food. At the after-show BBQ on Friday, June 10, both vegan and animal meat products are on offer.

The performance runs approx. 90-110 minutes without intermission, but the audience can leave and reenter the auditorium at any time during the event. The doors to the foyer remain open and it is bright enough throughout to find your way around. In the performance there is no separation of stage and audience space. There are several stations between which the audience moves in groups. These have different seating arrangements: one with beanbags, one with beer benches, and one at which the audience is standing. At each of the stations it is possible to place chairs for spectators if necessary. All stations are wheelchair accessible.

There is interaction with the audience - but it is possible to disengage at any time. Distinctive smells and fog are used during the performance. Important parts of the performance must be heard through headphones. These will be handed out by the performers. The auditorium is open 15 minutes before and after the performance. Before the performances, there will be an introduction to the piece to feel out and orient oneself on the stage; this begins at 7:15 pm in the foyer. Wheelchair spaces can be reserved based on availability or selected as a ticket category in the online store and at the box office. Detailed information about the accessibility of our venue can be found here. If you have any questions, please contact us at ticket@schwankhalle.de or 0421 520 80 70.

No real meat is used in the performance. However, the audience is invited to perform actions related to the killing and processing of animals and to listen to explicit descriptions from interviews.

Information on the current Corona regulations and our hygiene measures can be found here.
