The immersive art collective THE POLYMORPH EXTRA founded in Shanghai by the French saxophonist and composer Quentin Paquignon consists of more than 20 artists from 15 different countries and considers as its mission sending the audience on a musical trip full of new impressions. The Polymorph Extra 4tet, Andreas Günther (piano), Frederic Granade (bass), Leo Susi (drums, percussions), and Quentin Paquignon (saxophone) will now guest at the Schwankhalle in the frame of the Polymorph Extra Tour 2019.
Characterized by a modern composition approach, strong rhythms and a spirit of improvisation, the quartet performs pieces vacillating between European jazz and contemporary classical music, with Latin American and African influences.
