The »School of Glimmers #1« opens its gates for »Glimmers of recognition.« A weekend for empowering women*, queers, trans*black, indigenous, People of Color, and white trans* youths and adults, and for sensitizing to the connections between racializations and heteronormativity. A weekend with workshops, performances and a DJ set by Community-Care-Vibes.
»To stand our ground with those who look us in the eye, to wait for the glimmer of recognition to pass between us, to let the force of our being penetrate the other with gentleness.« (Gloria Anzaldúa)
The »School of Glimmers« project would like to contribute to a lasting shift of the discriminatory status quo: It focuses on self-determined BIPoC perspectives and decolonial forms of knowledge and provides spaces for critical whiteness. The »School of Glimmers« works at the intersections of political-cultural education, activism, performance, and science on the theme of postcolonial trans*formations—in a growing, diverse collective of art mediators, scientists, performers, and dance pedagogues.
