Wild West Show
In “Great Again,” Katrin Bretschneider and Manuela Weichenrieder have great plans: Motivated, willing to take risks and with maximum effort, the seek to re-enact Buffalo Bills famous Wild West Show—with 56 armed cowboys, 42 dancing Indians, 125 wild horses and a herd of buffalo. It is quite possible that they will fail. But they try their luck according to the “pursuit of happiness” anchored in the American Declaration of Independence. Amidst Western myths and cowboy romanticism, they ask: What price are we willing to pay to assert our right to the pursuit of happiness? To whose detriment does GREATNESS arise? And what kind of mood is it that is currently demanding simple solutions and cowboy policies worldwide?
