The Bremen-based filmmaker and writer Jan van Hasselt has a predilection for obscurities. His brother Klas knows this as well and therefore gave him a load of badly damaged vinyl records he found at an illegal garbage dump in Wilhelmsburg. What Jan initially thought were rare but only moderately exciting sound documents are soon suspected of being sensational media artifacts. With fragmentary evidence and the help of experts, Jan van Hasselt enters a media-archaeological rabbit hole that takes him up to the Voyager satellites, down into the bizarre depths of National Socialist cultural politics and into the spheres of early 20th-century occultism and esotericism. In an investigative live broadcast, Jan van Hasselt seeks to reveal the mystery of the records from Wilhelmsburg.
