Concert
Five commissioned compositions by composers from four different countries living in Bremen. The Ensemble New Babylon and the projektgruppe neue musik bremen e.V. decided to award the commissions without thematic specifications, thus countering the steady increase in curated concerts. The risk is big, the results are open and the pieces therefore bear no titles. All that is certain is that the Bremen wind orchestra Lauter Blech and the contrabassist Reinhart Hammerschmidt will participate alongside the Ensemble New Babylon – a line-up the size of a chamber orchestra, conducted by René Gulikers, allowing the composers a great deal of freedom.
With works by Heiko Müller (*1955), Christoph Ogiermann (*1967), Anton Wassiljew (*1984), Christian Pedro Vásquez Miranda (*1969) and Andreas Paparousos (*1975)
Contributors: Ensemble New Babylon, Bremer Blasorchester Lauter Blech, Reinhart Hammerschmidt (Kontrabass)
Conductor: René Gulikers
