Can you dance water? And how can a story be translated into movement? Inspired by the stories of the author John von Düffel, the Bremen-based dancers Magali Sander Fett and Frauke Scharf engage with water in its most diverse manifestations: rivers, ocean, rain, fog, ice. Both have a personal relationship to water. One grew up by the seaside, the other works as a geographer at the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research in Bremerhaven. Moving along the texts, they immerse in associations rich in imagery, in bodily sensations and psychological states: ›I stand on the beach and gaze at the wintry smooth water. Where it rests, where it stirs. The ice is very delicate and fragile, like skin on clod milk... soft ice-water fluff.‹ (John von Düffel, Wassererzählung, DuMont: Cologne, 2014)
