In >Mohrle<, the live preparation of a mouse is shown in its individual work steps: from the skinning of the animal to its stuffing and >staging<. This technical reconstruction is accompanied by Hendrik Quast’s theatrical register of stage and musical songs and forms the idiosyncratic and ritualistic reanimation attempt at giving the dead animal its voice back (again). The cat lyrics sung live by Quast accompany the taxidermy of the mouse and thus establish a virtuoso connection between the two techniques of taxidermy and singing.
