FRI MAY 1 – SUN MAY 3 / 7 pm
The event will take place as a live stream
The stream starts at 7pm here: theusers.live
In a video livestream the audience in ›The Users, in Lockdown‹ meets a group of children of the ›Generation Touchscreen‹, each at a different place. The children are immersed in the screens of their computers, smartphones and tablets. The audience watches them from their own screens, thus enabling them to enter, to look at the apparent stage via their own screens. On the stage of the live stream the children become mediators between an 'elsewhere' of virtual worlds and our own imagination. The mutual perspectives thus created may not only question our own media habits, but especially our current trust in digital convergence.
The project is part of the cultural programme of Canada's Guest of Honour appearance at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2020 and is supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and the Government of Canada. The project was also supported by the Landesverband Freie Tanz- und Theaterschaffende Baden-Württemberg e.V. and the Fonds Darstellende Künste.
