Antonia Baehr

›Exit‹

Performance in English

FRI July 3 + SAT July 4 / 7 p.m.
on SAT July 4 with with a welcoming speech from State Councillor Carmen Emigholz

Antonia Baehr is devoted to an omnipresent but mostly disregarded phenomenon of Western theater venues: the obligatory illuminated exit signs. While she herself has repeatedly attempted to suppress these ›disturbing noises‹ of true darkness, she now makes them the stars of her lecture performance. ›Exit‹ takes us to a sphere between light and darkness, in which the green glow confronts us with the contradictions of supposedly stable factors such as ‘inside’ and ‘outside’, ‘safety’ and ‘danger’, or ‘body’ and ‘image’. A dream journey to the theater’s repressed.
