Melanie Jame Wolf is an Australian born artist living and working between Melbourne & Berlin since 2011. She makes work under the name Savage Amusement, sometimes solo, sometimeas with friends. This work is always performance based, often participatory and increasingly incorporates video and the screen as performance objects or spaces.
Melanie Jame makes work about love, distance, language, gender, screen subjectivity and ghosts of many forms. As Savage Amusement, Melanie Jame has presented work in various contexts across Europe and Australia including: Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art; HAU; Hitparaden Festival of Performance Art & New Theatre; & FOLA - Festival of Live Art. She has developed works at a number of residencies including: Underbelly Arts Lab & Festival, Sydney; Esitystaiteen Keskus, Helsinki & The Parlour Showrooms, Bristol. Melanie Jame holds a Master of International Performance Research from University of Helsinki.
