In 1999 the Bremen-based sociologist Christoph Spehr published his book ›Die Aliens sind unter uns. Herrschaft und Befreiung im Demokratischen Zeitalter‹. The aliens look just like us, but with a friendly countenance they follow a nonhuman, exploitative programme, incorporating everything and everyone into their neo-liberal international. In an audio-visual room for thought, the Bremer MusikAktionsEnsemble KLANK and Christoph Spehr engage with alienism. BORGSEIN assesses whether Spehr’s more than 15-year-old arguments (still) apply to today’s social relations. On two corresponding evenings, visible real-time music clashes with context. Is it suitable as an up-to-date emancipatory practice? Historical-critical edition live.
