Antonia Baehr has been working as a choreographer for 15 years and will now bring her first dance piece titled “Normal Dance” to the stage. She has invited two friends, who are similar to her in many ways, but never watch contemporary dance pieces. They do not have bodies trained for contemporary dance. All three epitomize a feminine masculinity: powerful hold, firm standing, strength, and stature. A trio for butches to the music of contemporary, experimental, female composers, compiled and played by DJane CC Imperatriz. If the piece wanted to tell us something, it would be about being together and apart when dancing, about dance as a form of community.
