Thomas Bartling first studied Theatre Pedagogy and Theatre Studies in Osnabruck and Bochum. From 2011 to 2016 he studied Applied Theatre Studies (MA) in Gießen. The projects were realized as solo performances or at festivals, like Naktunfnished (Hamburg), Jung-NaUnd?! (Collogne), Festival der Jungen Talente (Offenbach & Frankfurt/Main), Zeitzeug_ (Bochum), 100° (Berlin), Wilsonstraße (Mannheim), Outnow! (Bremen), FÜR DICH (Marburg), Fuchsbau Festival (Hannover) and Vogelball (Hamburg). He also worked as a performer in projects with Jérôme Bel, Susanne Zaun and the collective Arty Chock. During his studies he was taught by Heiner Goebbels, Gerald Siegmund, Antonia Baehr und Vaginal Davis. He was awarded the scholarship of the Dramaturgische Gesellschaft in 2015 and the NRW-Stipendium der freien Kinder- und Jungendtheater in 2016.
